About Us
Fred Byda, owner and founder of Neighborhood Bookkeeping, helps small business owners by providing just the right level of bookkeeping, cleanup, and consulting that they need for their business. With a background in management, finance, and sales, Fred takes pride in helping his clients achieve their business goals. Clients appreciate how personable Fred is, and they consider him more of a business partner than a typical vendor.
Fred is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, a Certified QuickBooks Enterprise ProAdvisor, and a Certified QuickBooks Point of Sale ProAdvisor. That means he is well-versed in all of the features of the accounting software, so he can save clients time, get them setup quickly, and help them get the financial reports they need to make good business decisions. He has also helped clients improve their cash flow, and one recent example included a client where Fred suggested an idea related to payroll, which freed up several days of cash.
Fred offers troubleshooting, cleanup, setup, and bookkeeping services for QuickBooks®. He often finds ways to make a company’s accounting system more efficient so that they can save time on accounting chores. He tailors his services to the client, providing onsite or remote consulting services. For some clients, he performs monthly bookkeeping services, and for others, he comes in once a year to get clients’ books ready for their CPA.
Prior to starting Neighborhood Bookkeeping in 2009, Fred worked as a controller in the automotive industry. He earned a BA in Business Management from Virginia Wesleyan College. When he’s not working, Fred enjoys golf, running, biking, hiking, and watching college football.
